Nerfing to oblivion
Since the creation of IWAY build that i still admitting who ever discovered it was genius till builds that people using it these days has been nerfed or waiting to be, tons of single builds or team builds have been nerfed in the name of balance weather of tuning them down little bit (which i totally accept) to hitting a lot of skills with their mighty nerf bat to oblivion (which i don't agree with their policy about that).
If Anet kept the old builds viable to be played till now , would we have more variety in playing and encountering many team builds in (HA/GvG) ? rather than playing 3 or 4 team builds each season till Anet nerf them to oblivion so ppl try to discover another builds to play with next season !!. We would have like more than 30 -40 build sets that you can choose to play one of them.
IMO calling team builds (whatever it is) gimmick was lack of viability and utility of other builds to encountering them, but imagine with me if we have like +30 team build sets you can choose from would you still calling them gimmicks ?!
To be honest, i still believe guild wars still a game, and like any other game it's all about winning whether it was a title, emote, rare skin item or even the pleasure of winning itself. If we had to get to that we need our variety of ways of reaching it, what i see here that Anet is forcing us to play what they want not what we want !!
When i see requests of nerfing certain skills make imagining that GW is FPS game that its casual players asking to remove rocket launcher from the game because it's overpowered while skilled players with pistol can bring down any of these easily but they were too lazy to become skilled like them.
Bottom of line I'm not asking for certain skill or build to become alive so i can play for my favor i was asking for all, that may give the game more colorful way of playing PvP rather than seeing 3 or 4 builds each season. hope you can share your thoughts about that..thanks in advance

The problem is that new build ideas generally come from buffs to skills as well as nerfs to skills. By removing "nerfs to oblivion" and still buffing skills, the game would see a general increase in the effectiveness of each skill. Slowly, this would cause skills to be able to kill nearly instantly, heal for massive amounts of damage, create godly shutdown such as "If target hits a key or clicks the mouse button, that foe loses 100 Health" etc. just to counter the other buffed skills.
If Anet left every build alone, there would still be those more effective than others, and when people realize this, that's still all they're going to use. The majority of people will use the best FotM even if it's only a hair better than another one.

Yes, I would still be calling them gimmicks. What exactly a 'gimmick-build' is was discussed in-depth in a certain WoC show (can't remember which..).
I do agree that having a metagame with 30 builds would be better. But I'm afraid that is an utopia, simply not realistic. In any metagame, there are always certain builds more played then others, making other types of builds unplayable.
30 builds is a way to large number. If you even saw 8 different metagame builds, that would be quite something...

the current way of game balancing (one big update every few months) sucks, and i seriously hope they drastically improve it with their promissed "new system".
Some skills are nicely balanced when they get addressed (nature's renewal for example), others however are like "erased from the game", never to be used again, like for example ether renewal.
i use those 2 examples because they are both old prophecies single-skill imbalances (and probably some of the biggest ever), when the game had less skills, which didn't overcomplicate balancing everything out.
so yeah, right now, game balance is either getting it right, or doom the skill.

Well, flare is likely to receive yet another buff according to the weekend test event. God help the health of this game if flare spike is something a team would *actually* want to run.

If Anet didn't nerf some skills that nerf appears to anyone from first glance that they are saying don't play with skill in team build anymore we would have like +30 builds till now,i agree with them about tuning down some overpowered skills but when you read between the lines what they are doing it make you sad they tight your hand with the varieties.

Soon after he was kicked from DeeR he applied to another guild, which I was applying for as well.
His app was like this:
IGN: Legendary Dryder
rank 11
I invented Bloodspike and IWAY. I own.
I'll be expecting my invite in a few minutes
So, either someone put some real effort in that joke or he actually does claim to have invented iway.
Either way, Ian Boyd>us all

Sure, why not. My side came from Lulu the other day who said that Izzy came up with it and Te ran it.
